Bossgirls through Zahn Innovation Center at the City College of New York A free entrepreneurship program for high school girls from the Zahn Innovation Center at the City College of New York, is now taking applications for Summer 2023. Students work in teams to discover a problem, and build a startup idea that solves the problem. They'll gain new skills, develop greater confidence, and make new friends along the way. As an added bonus, students are provided with mentorship through our sponsors at Standard Chartered, and they hear from women entrepreneurs throughout the program.
Artslife Artslife is a paid summer internship program for rising sophomores and juniors in high school that combines art and design with leadership training, museum studies, and community engagement. Participants are introduced to museum careers such as Curatorial, Education, Development, Public Relations and Marketing, Visitor Services, Security, and Registrar. During the initial week, participants get to know one another and meet museum staff. During the remaining six weeks, participants work on collaborative projects, with Museum staff, local designers, arts professionals who act as mentors. Students enjoy first-hand experience and the broadest possible exposure to ongoing museum activities, both public facing and behind-the-scenes. Artslife interns will:
Learn about careers in the arts
Create artwork with local and visiting artists in the Artists’ Studios
Develop and teach peer-to-peer tours
Build and strengthen presentation, communication, and public speaking skills
Visit other cultural institutions in New York City
Interns are paid $15.00 an hour and will receive a MetroCard
Computer Science For Cyber Security (CS4CS) This program provides an introduction to the fundamentals of cybersecurity and computer science, with no prior experience in those topics needed.
New York County District Attorney’s High School Internship Program Ages: 10th-12th graders Interns help out in one of three different District Attorney’s offices, as well as attend special presentations and field trips, and take part in mock trial competitions. Interns receive a weekly stipend of $175.
STEM Matters NYC PreK through grade 12 students can apply now to attend exciting science and STEM programs being offered this summer at the NYC Department of Education’s Environmental Study Center and NYC Center for Space Science Education, the Bronx Zoo, Central Park Zoo, Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, Museum of the City of New York, New York Aquarium, Prospect Park Zoo, Queens Botanical Garden, Queens County Farm Museum, Queens Zoo, Staten Island Museum, Staten Island Zoo, and SUNY Old Westbury. Programs feature 1-week camps, high school internships, and a 4-week college credit bearing course. All programs are free and students receive MetroCard's for transportation if needed. STEM Matters NYC programs do not provide meals. Central Park Conservancy Ages: Must be 16 by June 1 Interns work five days a week and some weekends on individual projects, then come together as a group on Fridays for field trips, or a group activity of in-depth study in the fields of horticulture or public programming.
